Fiddling
Saturday, January 5th, 2008So fiddling around with the site a little tonight. I finally got around to getting some more of the old content up.
To start with I slurped off all the contents of the old temporary A Home Away from Hythia site that I was using while I was rebuilding this site. That covers September 2005 through May 2007 (really through June of 2006 since a large bit of time passed where I didn’t update). It’ll still need me to go through an add categories and tags to the old posts, but that isn’t a high priority yet.
I still have the content from my site before I went there to move up. It’ll be a pain though, I was dating everything by how many days into the year it was and all my time stamps are on the Swatch internet time system. But that’ll add May of 2001 through June of 2005 to the site when I get to it.
Still have my old City of Heroes guide to move back up, as well as a few assorted bits of old coding and gaming references. Though, honestly, the CoH guide is just about two years out of date now so I am not sure if it is worth the time bringing that back online. Will have to take a look at it and decide how much effort I want to put into it. The game was fun, but I don’t play it anymore and I don’t anticipate starting to again anytime soon.
For those who are interested, the current look of the site isn’t the same as the one I was working on back in June of 2007. The design I was working on then proved to be unworkable within the framework of WordPress, ultimately a failed experiment in seeing how far I could push the boundaries of what the software could do. Though to be honest, it actually may work better with some of the changes in the 2.3 version of WordPress so I’ll have to take it back out and look at it again someday.
