Soulcalibur 4 - Yoda and Darth Vader?
I have always like the Soulcalibur franchise, a series of fighting games where instead of the characters engaging in a complicated bout of fisticuffs they pulled out swords and went at it with clashing steel instead.
That said, the series has had it’s odd points in the past. I always found the platform specific characters in Soulcalibur 2 to be a little odd. If nothing else, the Gamecube version had Link from ‘The Legend of Zelda’ looking like he had stuck a sausage down the front of his tights, quite disturbing. While Spawn and whoever the third character was failed to impress me.
Soulcalibur 3 ditched those characters and instead brought back a couple of characters that had been region specific in the past. Such as Arthur who was a clone of Mitsurugi for the original Soulcalibur release in Korea; they kept Mitsurugi’s moveset and just re-skinned him to look British/American. (In fact, in the Korean release of the original Soul Edge game (which is really the first of the series) they replaced Mitsurugi with Hwang Seong Kyung.)
Soulcalibur 4 however seems to be heading in the direction of once more bringing in characters from other franchises, in this case however it is Star Wars. Yes, Yoda and Darth Vader show up in this video over at Gametrailers.com. Maybe it is a hoax, but for the moment I am assuming it is legitimate and funny as hell.
I can’t wait to see a Yoda vs Voldo duel…

Wow. Not a hoax, definately legit. I just checked the offical Soulcalibur.com site and the same video is up there.
Yoda and Vader, this is going to be an amazingly silly game I think, but still damnably fun.

Reading some more coverage of it…
It sounds like Vader may be a PS3 exclusive character and Yoda being a XBox 360 exclusive.
