Babylon 5 : The Lost Tales
After way too many years, a new Babylon 5 movie is coming out on DVD at the end of July. The movie, titled ‘The Lost Tales’ apparently takes place some 10 years after the end of the series (or the end of Season 4 at least) and is about Sheridan taking a trip back to Babylon 5 for a diplomatic conference of some sort.Honestly, the blurbs I’ve found so far about the plot of it have been kind of vague. Which is admittedly understandable given it hasn’t come out yet. What I have seen though is that the listed cast members seem to only be Sheridan, Lochley (captain of Babylon 5 in the fifth season), and Galen (the techno-mage from the ‘A Call to Arms’ movie and the ‘Crusade’ spin-off).
Over at the Babylon 5 website there is a trailer up for the movie as well as a couple video diaries of JMS (writer, creator, director of Babylon 5) talking about making the new movie. The actual video diaries are…. Odd. Sock puppets.
I’d be dishonest if I didn’t admit to having always been a Babylon 5 fan-boy. Before Joss Whedon’s ‘Firefly’ I was firmly and completely convinced that ‘Babylon 5′ was the greatest television series to ever have been and that may ever be. A little less sure of that now, but I still think the series was, and is, amazing.
